I just want to start with one verse and then we can move on but Luke 1:17. This is an on going message in itself, but i still don’t believe that we are all hearing the message or putting it to action. “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord” now i know this was talking about John, But don’t we have this same power as well as this same command to go. Shouldn’t we be preparing people for the Lord. WHY is it we are waiting for a sign or a push from God when he has already said GO PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD. What more do you need to hear???
A lot of us are just like Zacharias. Our Reading is coming from Luke 1:1:25. See we have taken the step we are called to service and then God speaks to us and we question Him. The thing is here Scripture tells us they both were Righteous before God, walking in all commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
As he was going into prayer an angel appeared unto him and told him his prayers had be heard and are answered. God answered Him. I would love to believe that if i had been praying for something and God were to speak to me about that one thing exactly, that i wouldn’t doubt it for a second. But what do we do here as Christians today. We are always saying well I’m not sure Lord just send me another sign, show me in another way, talk to me again about this. Why i ask. I would hate to see this place if we questioned God on what he was telling us and he made us unable to speak.
My thoughts are this, what is God saying to you today? Why are you resisting? He is God our thoughts are not His thoughts our plans are not his plans but He is Righteous and the Almighty, He knows all things, so why don’t we just trust what he is saying. So let put our faith to action and when God speaks let us have action. Trust and Obey..
May our faith be forever changed for our Lord and Savior.
