Today another day of power from temptation. Quick recap from yesterday. This is part of having a spirit filled life. We see in Luke 4:1 Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost and was led by the spirit. We need this in our lives today. If we want to overcome temptations and truly serve God we need to be full of the Holy Ghost and led by the spirit. We need to realize that it is the word of God that sustains us. HE and he alone carries us day by day.

    Now today Luke 4:5-8 As we see in verse 5 ” and the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time”. The devil is good at making things appear to be better than what they are. He is only trying to deceive you into believing that serving him is the real deal.

    Verse 6-7 “and the devil said unto him, all this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever i will i give it. If thou therefor wilt worship me, all shall be thine.” This is the same lie that he portrays to us in life. But i am thankful for Jesus because he shows us what a spirit filled life can do for us in a time of temptation.

    verse 8 “and Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou Shalt Worship The Lord Thy God, And Him Only Shalt Thou Serve.”  May i ask you where is your loyalty? Are you only serving God or is there other things that’s in your life that has more importance? It can be simple things such as, friends, family, money, TV, sports etc. What are we serving instead of the king of kings. Jesus didn’t say that as long as you worship me more than everything else then its all good. No he said thous shalt worship the Lord thy God, and hi only shalt thou serve.  Its him and nothing else.

    This isn’t exactly a hard truth to understand but yet it seems as if we can’t grasp it. If you look at the US today you can clearly see that it is a nation of many idols and objects of worship. The sad thing is who is doing something about it? Hear my words if we don’t start then GOD will. We have become a nation that has turned our back on the one true God. Scripture says he is slow to anger. My question is how slow is he? We need a time of prayer for a revival to break loose. We need to pray for our government and its leaders.

     So i end with this. How are you serving the Lord thy God? Are you serving him alone or are you allowing Satan to deceive you? To many people today are being deceived and too many Christians today are allowing it to happen to our friends, family and loved ones. When does it stop? It stops today but saying God i want a complete spirit filled life one in which you lead me and that i serve you alone with my entire life. I want to become a living sacrifice for you O Lord. Do we have any takers? Just a last word Christ said this was no option but a command.

    May your hearts be forever changed.
